Winners of the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2001

On March 9, 2001, the jury (Yu Bing-nan from China, Pierre Mendell from Germany, Makoto Saito from Japan, Paula Scher from USA, Henry Steiner and Alan Zie from Hong Kong ) selected the following posters , out of a total of 1655 entries received from 41 countries:

Ideological Category

  • Gold award: Fang Chen (China), for "Victory"
  • Silver award: Cosima Boeck (Germany), for a series of 6 posters
  • Bronze award: Svetlana and Alexander Faldin (Russia), for "Anti smoking"

Cultural Category

  • Gold award: Niklaus Troxler (Switzerland), for "Jazz Festival Willisau 2000"
  • Silver award: Holger Matthies (Germany), for a series of 3 posters "Scissors"
  • Bronze award: Ralph Schraivogel (Netherlands), for "Shakespeare's Cinema"

Commercial Category

  • Gold award: Wu Yong (China)
  • Silver award: Maja Kystol Schou (Denmark) for "Translation Office"
  • Bronze award: Masayuki Terashima (Japan) for "Air-G"

I just discovered the web page of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum that will have an exhibition of the Triennale posters from October 2001 till March 2002, and shows all the winning works.
