1800 posters submitted worldwide from which the the pre-selection jury picked 300 posters.
The international jury met early November 2001 in Ningbo, China, and awarded the following prizes:

PRIZES

• Grand Prix:
  Lex Drewinski (DE) for the poster "Refugee"
  
  
• Gold Medals:
  Sadayuki Nakazawa (JP) for a series of 2 posters "Life"
  Ralph Schraivogel (CH) for the poster "Paul Newman"
