Posterheroes 5: all the winning posters

Turin, May 26th, 2015

They are on average 24 years old and they mostly come from Italy, China, U.S.A., Portugal, Iran and Turkey, on a total of 56 countries. They're professional designers and illustrators or people who just love graphics but they have a unique goal: to express, through a poster, a powerful message. We're talking about the participants at social communication contest Posterheroes, which is announcing today the winning posters.

During the year of EXPO Milano, Posterheroes has completed the two years study about nutrition and food. Particularly Posterheroes 5 – Food in the loop - chose to talk about the whole food chain, showing that environmental sustainability should involve the entire food’s life cycle (PRODUCTION, TRANSFORMATION, TRANSPORT, DISPOSAL) everyone who takes part in it.

The jury, composed of international experts in graphic arts and communication, during the evaluation focused on originality, representation technique, message efficacy, and emotional aspects expressed by the posters.

Starting from today, the gallery and the video with the 40 selected posters are available on the website www.posterheroes.org.

All the selected posters will be included in the activities and exhibitions that Plug (the association promoting Posterheroes), will organize from now on.

“After receiving more than 2.200 posters from all over the world during the last two editions, we can confirm that themes related to social and environmental sustainability keep generating a large interest” - says PLUG's President, the architect Fabio Guida - “Our goal is using Design as a tool in favor of social issues. Our association chose to use its abilities to spread ethical messages, putting a lot of effort in promoting a careful consideration about social themes and inducing a behavioral change towards a more cohesive and conscious society.”

Here are some of the winning posters:

Marijke Timmerman, Netherlands

Miguel Angel Rangel, Mexico

Denisse Montoya, USA

Osvaldo Casanova, Italy
