WEB POSTER EXHIBITION - Iranian election posters

My visit to Iran in February 2004 coincided with elections to the national parliament. The streets of Tehran were flooded with election posters. Out of curiosity, and as part of my ongoing project to document street posters wherever I go, I took lots of pictures. Some people on the streets shook their head in disbelief, one man suggested that there are more beautiful things in Tehran worth taking a picture of. He is probably right. Nevertheless, this report is neither an endorsement for or against any particular candidate or party, nor does it claim to be representative, or reflect the mood in the city. Consider it a kind of political Villeglé and look at swiss or mexican examples of an art form that is still awaiting official recognition.
