The two catalogues take great care to downplay the role of posters in the festival. There is no picture of an Olivetti poster, of the posters for the section "Affiches francaises" or of a student poster.
Some but not all posters from the international competition are in the catalogue, but only as black and white thumbnails, there is no list of selected entries or designers. So there is really no record of what was actually displayed
in this year's festival. "We are keen to avoid making a snapshot of the exhibitions", the catalogue designers proudly proclaim, and show 70 pages of Olivetti stationary instead, and vary the text size between 6 and 989 points.
I tried to document some of the exhibitions using the panorama function of my Canon A570 digital camera. Don't forget to scroll horizontally. |
