The Chinese poster designer Li Xu from west China HeZhou University and Bin Liu from Xiamen College of Arts and Crafts, Fuzhou University recently organized a poster exhibition: 2010 Cross-strait Outstanding Designers' Poster Invitational Exhibition Opens Grandly A grand ceremony was held at 9:30, September 18, 2010 in the Central Hall of Xiamen Art Gallery for the 2010 Cross-strait Outstanding Designers' Poster Invitational Exhibition sponsored by Fujian Artists Association and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture, and undertaken by Xiamen College of Arts and Crafts, Fuzhou University. More than a hundred guests attended the opening ceremony, including the teacher and student representatives from the art and design faculties of universities or colleges in Xiamen. At the crowded scene of the ceremony, numerous media reporters were covering this grand poster exhibition. Hundreds of well-designed poster works by over a hundred graphic designers from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, are on display in the No. 1 Hall of Xiamen Art Gallery. This Poster Invitational Exhibition consists of a series of events such as the opening ceremony, the invitational exhibition of poster works, the forum of creative poster design, academic lectures, thematic poster design, cocktail party on the beach and pancake dinner for the closing ceremony. The high-standard 2010 Cross-strait Outstanding Designers' Poster Invitational Exhibition is the first grand poster exhibition across the Taiwan Strait and the biggest of poster invitational exhibitions ever held in China. This exhibition is to display the multi-level poster designs and originalities from Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao and let visitors from home and abroad enjoy the thoughts, originalities and visual creativity of the three generations of designers across the Taiwan Strait, whose works consist of four categories, that is, ideological posters, cultural posters, commercial posters and posters for public welfare. Hundreds of excellent poster works designed by over 150 graphic designers from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are on display at the exhibition. This poster invitational exhibition will further accelerate the cultural construction across the Strait, enhance the exchange of art and design between the two sides of the Strait, and promote the development of their industry of cultural originality.
