24. International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, Poland, 2014

The Regulations

The 24. International Poster Biennale (IPB) presents posters
created worldwide between 2012 and 2013. The Warsaw
Biennale aims at reviewing and comparing the most significant
achievements of that time. The event is organized by the Poster
Museum at Wilanow – Division of the National Museum in Warsaw
in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the
Association of Applied Graphic Designers STGU. Endorsed by
ICOGRADA.

Where & when:
The 24. IPB will be held in Warsaw at the Poster Museum at
Wilanow. Opening ceremony will take place on June 7, 2014.
The IPB Exhibition will run until September 14, 2014.
Deadline for sending works on server is February 28, 2014.

Competitive categories:
A Posters created between 2012 and 2013.
B The Henryk Tomaszewski Golden Debut – works submitted by
students or graduates of art academies up to two years from
graduation. Graduation projects and academic assignments
printed digitally can be submitted with permission from the
college.

Requirements of Entering and Participating:

  1. The 24. IPB will exhibit works of individual authors, studios,
    groups and agencies.
  2. Every participant may submit no more than 3 posters from
    2012–2013 (each in two copies after qualification for sending).
    The entries must be printed works which have been published.
  3. The organizers will only accept the posters which do not exceed
    the following dimensions: the shorter edge must not be shorter
    than 40 cm, the longer edge must not exceed 180 cm.
  4. Qualification:
    1st Stage
    Each poster and the completed entry form should be saved
    as RGB JPG file, the longer edge 30 cm, 300 dpi and send to
    www. biennale.postermuseum.pl until February 28, 2014.
    The entry form should be filled in on the www.biennale.
    postermuseum.pl webpage. After registration, every participant
    will receive the completed entry form as PDF file via e-mail.
    2 nd Stage
    The posters qualified for the competitive exhibition will be
    chosen by the jury until March 31, 2014. The list of qualified
    posters will be announced on the www.postermuseum.pl
    webpage.
    The selected participants will be informed and will also be
    asked to send by post the qualified posters, each in 2 copies.
    Deadline for sending works is April 30, 2014 (the delivery date
    is conclusive). The works delivered after the deadline will not
    be exhibited, however the posters become the property of the
    Poster Museum at Wilanow.
  5. Each poster should bear a label which must be filled in legibly in
    block letters. The number of the label should match the number
    of the poster on the entry form. It is also required to indicate the
    top of the poster by drawing an arrow. The label has to be pasted
    on the bottom left corner on the reverse side of the poster.
  6. After sending works on server and filling in the entry form,
    the participant is unable to edit the content and exchange
    the submitted files.
  7. The posters submitted will not be returned.
  8. The posters pasted on a solid base or framed will not be accepted.
  9. The posters with illegal, vulgar, obscene, pornographic content
    will not be accepted.
  10. The works should be packed in a safe and practical manner to
    avoid any damage during transport. Damaged posters will not be
    accepted. The organizers do not take responsibility for damage
    sustained in transport.
  11. Postage and other incidental expenses are covered by
    the sender. The parcel must be labeled printed matter, no
    commercial value. Please do not include the value of your
    submission on the postal declaration or invoice, as this
    complicates the delivery procedure; the organizers will not
    undertake any customs clearance and the parcel will be
    sent back. The address label can be downloaded from the
    www. postermuseum.pl webpage.
  12. Every participant accept the regulations of the 24 IPB and also
    the organizer’s right to use images for promotional purpose,
    publication in the catalogue and on the webpage – free of charge.

International Jury Members:
The List of the International Jury Members will be announced on the
www.postermuseum.pl webpage until February 10, 2014.

Prizes:
The International Jury will award prizes for 2 categories and will
announce the verdict on the opening day – June 7, 2014.
The Gold Medal 5 000 Euro
2 Silver Medals 3 000 Euro
3 Bronze Medals 1 000 Euro
The Golden Debut 3 000 Euro
The Jury will also award:
The Icograda Excellence Award
The Jozef Mroszczak Honorary Award granted by the Rector of the
Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
A prize awarded for a group is regarded as a single group prize and
cannot be multiplied.
The Gold Medals Winners will be invited to present their poster art
output during to the next Biennale Laureates Exhibition.

Final Obligation:
All posters qualified for the competitive exhibition become the
property of the Poster Museum at Wilanow.
The organizers have the right to use images or photograph posters
for promotion purposes of IPB free of charge.
The program of IPB and Concurrent Exhibitions will be announced
on the www.postermuseum.pl webpage.
