Posterheroes 4: a jury of international experts

Turin, 21 January 2014

As well as in the last edition, this year the design contest Posterheroes sponsored by Plug enjoys an international jury of relevant names in the area of graphic design.

February 16th is the last day for submission to Posterheroes 4, the 4th edition of this competition organized by the cultural association of Piemont - Plug in collaboration with Eataly and Chamber of Commerce of Turin.

After three editions focused on renewable energy, energy consumption and smart cities, Posterheroes contest gets a two-year project focused on Food System designed to investigate the issues of food and nutrition in their social, economic and environmental context nature.

We call creatives from around the world to express their ideas in Systemic Food by creating a poster of 50x70cm.

The Jury is composed by names like Matias Corea (Co-founder and Art Director of Behance - society dedicated to organizing the creative world), Marije Vogelzang (a pioneer in eating design, dedicat herself to artistic performances and food facilities); Jessica Hische (an comics writer and illustrator of international fame, among its customers are the New York Times, Penguin Books and Wired Magazine).

However, these will not be the only judges in this contest, also make part of the this group Anagram, Empathy, Hey Studio, LeftLoft and R2.

In sum, an opportunity to draw the attention to the design experts, their projects and their thoughts. All together will select the winning proposals, giving a total of 40 posters.

Submiting your work in Posterheroes is really simple and free, it’s open to an individual person or for groups. Proposals must be submitted by uploading the site www.posterheroes.org until 11:59 pm of February 16, 2014 March 16, 2014

PLUG is an non-profit cultural organization, committed to social, economic and environmental issues.
The motion of Plug is to create debates, propose ideas and influence the lifestyle of the people by exposing important aspects of social and environmental sustainability. The cultural association is active since 2009, develops and promotes competitions, events, conferences and workshops to creative and mainly for young people.
The issues we approach aren’t only of national interest, but all relate to contemporary society, so Plug decided to work on a global scale in order to create a global network.

Still one month to participate in Posterheroes 4

Regarding to the several participations received so far, the PLUG cultural association, organizer of the fourth edition of Posterheroes international contest, with the theme TOWARDS SYSTEMIC FOOD, decides to extend one more month the deadline submissions for graphic desings suggestions.

Regarding to the several participations received so far on the Posterheores international contest, this year with the theme TOWARDS SYSTEMIC FOOD, Plug cultural association as organizer of the event decides to extend one more month the deadline submissions for graphic desings suggestions.

March 16th is the new deadline for sending the graphic designs to Posterheroes 4, the social communication contest promoted by Plug and patronaged by Unesco, which is included in a two years project that start’s this year related to food and all its implications.

The huge participation registrated is a sign of a growing interest by the community on issues that come at nude in the contest, that is, feed consciense and its social, cultural e economic aspects.

Launched on past November, the contest is honoured to have, between the several collaborations, Eataly and the Turin Chamber of Commerce, we aspire to involve creatives from all the world around four items of global interest: biodiversity; obesity and malnutrition; emigration and immigration and territorial interconnected systems.

All the participants will have the possibility to defy each other through the creation of a graphic poster 50x70 size, which will be rated by an international jury compound by some of the relevant names from the graphic design and communication panorama.

The selected posters will be published on a catalog made for the iniciative, will be shown inside the Eataly spaces, technical sponsor, and will also take part in future exibitions and events promoted by Plug.

The registration on Posterheroes is simple and free, open to individuals or groups. The designs must be submited on the site www.posterheroes.org by up-load.

“Our intent”, comment by the Pesident of PLUG association, “ is to use the design as tool in service to social. After the experiences of the last editions, we are convinced that Posterheroes can represent an interesting opportunity for all that belongs to the world of creativity and share the connection between communication and challenge the change. The contest also represent a great opportunity for creatives to expose their own ideas showing this results to international experts on the graphic design sector, understood between communication, stamp and to the eating design world”
