POSTER COMPETITIONS - Call for entries

Oil catastrophe poster competition 2010
received June 7, 2010 from Jeffrey Lush

Please see the original web site for more information and online entry forms.
Deadline: 19 June, 2010

What this is about
This is a selected showing. Curated by John Gibby and Jeff Lush, we will show the posters as often as we can.
The Great Oil Leak of 2010 is one of the largest environmental catastrophes of our lifetime. As the oil saturated water washes up over barrier islands, beaches and marshes, the Gulf South stands to lose billions of dollars. Commercial fishing and tourism are a staple of the US economy. Lost income affects us all. However, bird, plant and aquatic species could be affected for generations.
This is your chance to help!

All proceeds will be donated to Gulf Aid Acadiana to help out the local fishermen who desperately need aid.

Call for entries
We want your work! There is no cost associated with this call for entries. We simply want your best work.

Last date to submit is June 19, 2010

Submission Guidelines
We will take any poster that you send. Screened on a 5 inch by 7 inch box of cereal? Perfect. 50 self-published offset lithographs? Love to take them. Letterpress, silkscreen? Excellent. Point being, we not only want your work, we want your best work. This is a selected showing. Curated by John Gibby and Jeff Lush, we will show the posters as often as we can. Any work will be considered.

We also want to offer your work for sale. Any posters run as an edition will be sold. If no price is given by the artist, a fair price will be established by the curators.

All proceeds will be donated to Gulf Aid Acadiana to help out the local fishermen who desperately need aid. Our goal is simple. Speak up! All posters must be made for the Great Oil Leak of 2010.
