This competition will give rise to an EXHIBITION OF A SELECTION OF POSTERS ENTERED and an award in the context of the 18TH CHAUMONT POSTER FESTIVAL on Saturday, 12ST May 2007. The organizers reserve the right to cancel the competition in case of absolute necessity. Theme 2007 : GLOBAL WARMING The goal of the 14TH competition-exhibition of the Chaumont Poster Festival 2007 is to let graphic arts students express themselves on a theme increasingly present in international public debates, and which calls on each of us to look at how we live, whilst questioning suggested or imposed development models. "Even though the reality of climate change should
cause us all to opt for a lifechoice of sustainable
development as soon as possible, the world remains
divided, egocentric considerations thrive and
the powers that be continue to play their games."
Now, at last, the general public has become at least partially aware. And we have no other reasonable choice but to take a close and complete look at how we produce, consume and share this space we call planet Earth. Now, over to you to design a poster aiming to heighten general public awareness on this issue. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION :
The organization accepts no responsibility for any damage caused to the entries shipped. The organization reserves the right to refuse posters counter the regulations or offending moral standards, religious or national feelings. The organizers reserve the right to use all the information provided by the students, as well as the right to reproduce the poster photographically in order to ensure the promotion of Festival, for any books or catalogues published on that occasion or as part of the Festival, or to be presented on Festival or City’s websites or competition partners websites. The organizers reserve the right to show the posters during further events (permanent, itinerary or temporary exhibitions) or to publish them. All the entries are donated to the city of Chaumont, and might be kept at the "Silos / Maison du livre et de l'affiche". In partnership with the Bibliotheque Nationale de France and the Champagne-Ardenne DRAC, the city of Chaumont is considering creating a database including all the posters, which have been entered by the participants of the Chaumont Poster Festival, as well as the vintage posters, which it has received in donation. Consequently, the author agrees to transfer any property right to the city of Chaumont on the material medium of the poster / posters, which he / she delivers to the city of Chaumont for the Chaumont Poster Festival. The authors also undertakes to transfer to the city of Chaumont, at no charge and non-exclusively, the right to reproduce the poster, their photography, perhaps his / her portrait and elements of his / her resume on the media representing his / her works as well as on the Internet network during the whole operating period. The poster is intended to be integrated into a digital database, which will be accessible in France and abroad. The author guarantees the city of Chaumont not to take any action for counterfeiting or based on the right of the image related to his / her creation. The author is free to reproduce the poster, which he / she created, on any medium. The participants of the competition – exhibition «Students, All to Chaumont» must also send their image on a CD-Rom, TIFF format, 11,25 x 15 cm, 300 dpi resolution, colour mode CMJN, in order to ensure a better printing quality for the planned publication, which will gather together the selection of the posters to be exhibited.
