18. International Poster and Graphic Arts Festival of Chaumont - France
International Posters Competition 2007

Foreword
One of the major events of the annual International Poster and Graphic Design Festival of Chaumont is the exhibition of the 100-120 posters selected from the entries in the international poster competition. The upcoming Festival will take place from May 12 to June 24, 2007, and we’d be glad to welcome you.

Please send us one to five of your best posters done over the past 3 years. All of the posters we receive are carefully filed and conserved in the Chaumont poster collection, which is a permanent and accessible resource. These posters constitute one of the finest and largest ensembles of international posters located in France and most likely in all of Europe, offering an exciting counterpart to the Fonds Dutailly, a collection of historic posters bequest to the city exactly one hundred years ago.

This unique ensemble is intrinsically linked to the Festival, laying the groundwork for the imminent construction of a Centre International du Graphisme ( International Center for Graphic design), which will establish Chaumont as leading forum for work, encounters, research and permanent exhibitions in the field of poster and graphic design. We invite you to take part in the International Competition 2007 by sending us your best recent work, whatever the topic. We hope you will join us in Chaumont for the Festival’s opening on May 11, 12 and 13 in order to discover the exciting programme for 2007 and to attend the Awards ceremony. An increasing number of students, professionals and general public come to the Chaumont Festival each year to discover the best in contemporary French and international creation and to pay homage to a key personality in the history of graphic design.
