INTRODUCTION
Inaugurated in 1999, the Ningbo International Poster Biennial has hitherto been successfully held for three times. The day of Nov. 26th, 2004 has witnessed the 3rd International Poster Biennial in which Kenya Hara (Japan), Uwe Loesch (Germany), Leonardo Sonnoli (Italy), David Tartakover (Israel), Niklaus Troxler (Switzerland), Edwin Vollebergh (Holland), Stanley Wong (Hong Kong) and Wang Xu (China) served as the members of international jury. The Poster Exhibition raised the theme that “if the graphic design loses its trend of professional development and new expression, it basically loses its significance of the epoch”, advocating graphic designs with originality and forming a standard for judgment that is characteristic of Ningbo International Poster Biennial. The birth of this standard denotes that Ningbo International Poster Biennial has entered a new stage.

The day of Nov.25th, 2006 is going to greet the 4th Ningbo International Poster Biennial and related exhibition series which will be held again in the beautiful, port city of Ningbo, China. The newly completed Ningbo Museum of Art will be the showplace for current exhibition.

The current international poster biennial will still be strictly operated by the international practice, aiming at promoting high-level graphic design, propelling convergence and communication of international design, encouraging outstanding young designers, encouraging graphic designs with development trend and new expression, thus advancing professional level of graphic design in China and promoting the development of Chinese education in graphic design.
