By choosing the subject "ASMAOLHOSNA", the First Biennial Iran Poster Typography considers the place of letter & words and their composing in the area of Islamic Art & culture, not only for developing Typography and calligraphy as signs of traditional culture but also educating and edifying Muslim artists in order to emphasize on the Poster Typography Art. So that they can endeavor and make progress in creating modern and new forms and figures in this field.

Composing letters and words has special value in visual arts and is highly respected in Islamic Arts. In its traditional aspect, it is probably the most distinguishable sight of Islamic civilization. Writing letters and calligraphy in various manners, traditionally or recent, could be the remainders of the Divinity's creation art, to the people who have the ability to understand The Almighty in different ways.

The First national Biennale of Typography posters will be held in November, 2005 at the Sooreh Art Gallery, Tehran.
All of the selection posters for the exhibition will show concurrent at website in current gallery (www.todayposters.com) in 4th November 2005.

Registration Fees: None
Number of entries: Not more than five per an artist or group in each category.

Entry rules:

  1. There is no time limitation for printing date in this period of exhibition.
  2. Size of work: no smaller than 50cm x 70cm and no larger than 100cmx 70cm.
  3. The participants should be requested to fill in type-written. A copy of the label must be fixed with adhesive tape to the lower-right corner on the reverse of each poster.
  4. Entry forms must be enclosed in a sealed envelope along with the posters. The participants should be requested to fill in an entry form. An illegible entry form will cause disqualification of the entry. Information on the entry form will be used in the catalogue.
  5. Along with the print copy, please send document in electronic document recorded on CD-ROM. File Technical Parameters: document size: 21.0cm x 29.7cm, resolution: 300dpi (CMYK images), file type: only TIFF or JPG format accepted.
  6. The entries are not returnable.
  7. Entrants will be directly informed of exhibition acceptance or placing by the organizer.

The result of the National Jury screening will be announced in early November 2005.

Final obligation:
All the posters selected by the jury for the competitive exhibition become the property of the organizers. The organizers have the right to photograph and reprint the works for publicity and promotion. One copy of the catalogue published by organizer will be available to each participant at a 50% discount. Each of the participants for the exhibition will receive a certificate.
