Purpose The 8th Tehran International Poster Biennial 2004 turns to an international event. This is the first reviewing and comparing the most current achievements of international poster design around the world between 2001-2003 in Tehran. The event is being organized by the Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) with co-operation of Visual Art Center and Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, endorsed by Icograda. Entry Qualifications All entries must be the work of the entrant, printed after 2001. Entries should be no smaller than 60cmx45cm (23.6 x 17.7 inches) and no larger than 180 x 120 cm (70.8 x 47.2 inches). Printed posters by offset, silk-screen or digital print are accepted. Category Cultural and social posters only. Number of Entries Every participant may submit no more than three works per an artist or a group. Each participant may submit less than a set of three posters that constitute a single work. Registration Fee None Entry Deadline All entries must be sent at the secretariat address by regular mail before October 31, 2003. Screening The posters for the competitive exhibition will be chosen by the qualifying committee. The selected participants will be notified on www.tehran-poster-biennial.com. The entry label for each poster must be filled legibly in block letters. The label is to be pasted with tape adhesive at the top right corner of the back of the poster. 2. Information on the entry form will be used in the catalogue. 3. The organizer has the right to photograph and reprint the works for publicity and promotion of the biennial. 4. The works will not be returned. 5. All the posters qualified for the competitive exhibition become the property of the Tehran Museum of Graphic Design. 6. The organizers reserve the right to refuse any project that is offensive to morals, religious or national sensibilities or any other project that is against the rules. 7. The posters glued into a hard base or framed will not be accepted. 8. The posters should be packed in a safe and practical manner to avoid any damage during transport. Damaged posters will not be accepted. The organizers do not take responsibility for any lost or damage sustained in transport. 9. The Postage and other incidental expenses should be covered by the sender. The posters must be sent as "printed matter of non-commercial value". Please do not include the price of your submission on the postal declaration or invoice, as this complicates the delivery procedure. 10. Please also include the file(s) of your submitted work(s) on a CD. The CDs must be able to be operated on Mac OS or Microsoft Windows platform. The technical specifications of files are: A5 size (21 x 14.8 cm), 350 dpi, CMYK, Tiff or EPS format. 11. The selected participants will receive a certificate of participation. 12. One copy of catalogue published by organizers will be available to each entrant. Prizes The international jury will award prizes and they will be announced the verdict on February 2004. The date will be notified on www.tehran-poster-biennial.com. First prize: 6000 Euro Second prize: 4000 Euro Third prize: 2000 Euro The Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) will grant the honorary diploma to a talented Iranian designer.
